Criminal: Lawyers who specialise in defending people who are being prosecuted by the police or Crown Prosecution Service. Most work in the Magistrates Courts and the Crown Court (which hears the more serious cases). Most can advise on the full range of work - from traffic violations to major crimes. Legal aid? Yes (usually — but not for minor motor offences)
